Notion introduced its AI editor in full today meaning that every empty line now greets you with this:

or this if you type the regular /command slash
so I cancelled my paid plan since I used it to track all of my projects and collaborate with others on Other Secret Stuff. It's thankfully not as, like, world-ending to what I do so I'm not fretting too much but I am heartbroken because before this Notion was genuinely a "I have nothing bad to say about this"-type thing. Just a pleasure of a website to use that was routinely helpful in everything I did. Tracking my art projects, my personal writing, databases for expenses, etc. Finding an alternative that will be as simple to use will be hard.

In the meantime I'm checking out https://obsidian.md/ which seems to be really powerful but considerably more user un-friendly. I'll take a learning curve, I guess, if it means I don't have to deal with AI bullshit because I am fucking sick of it and I hope it dies a swifter death than web3 did in the minds of silicon valley-types.

in reply to @erica's post:

Obsidian definitely has a bit of a learning curve, but I've been using it for a few months and I love it. There are a lot of plugins (most of which have no relevance to my use case) but it's really wonderful for writing, note-taking, and things like that.
