Classic Sonic art appreciation because I love this little dude. (As an aside knuckles is my fave!!!)
It might be hard to spot at first (but also maybe not!) but this era of Sonic art did have an impact on my art. Long before I was an original character artist, up until I was like 18-19 I was almost exclusively just doing Sonic fanart. I’m 33 now so that was a long time ago haha, but this was a big chunk of my life!
I have no desire to go back to doing fanart but I’m a huge fan of this era of Sonic especially. The visual design and the energy in a lot of classic Sonic media from SEGA themselves has a lot of charm and I enjoy the design sense immensely. 90s and early 2000s SEGA are some strong influences on me for sure.
