I'm totally sorry if this is like intrusive or anything and feel free not to answer but, my girlfriend I are planning on getting gay married but she lives up in Vancouver and I'm in Seattle, I'm looking to move up there to her and I know you had a similar situation and we've just been looking for any like tips to figure out how to live together sooner since it's been three years now if you had any thing to help it would be incredibly helpful thank you!!!

Only advice I have is hire an immigration lawyer, if you can afford it. The process (immigration) sucks and anything you can do to make it easier for yourself is a good thing.

+1 on hiring an immigration lawyer. My situation with my partner was him immigrating to the US but I believe it's fairly similar. It's definitely possible to do it on your own if you can't afford a lawyer, but it's really nice to have the extra assurance when it's something that's such a huge thing for your lives.

Plus a lawyer will make sure it goes as quickly as it possibly can. When I was researching things I saw a good amount of people had the process extended by months because one form or another wasn't filled out quite properly and they had to resubmit it, and of course they had to wait for someone to get back around to looking at their case... And immigration is not a speedy process even when everything is going as well as it can.
