why do people pronounce SQL as 'sequel' and not 'squeal'
Because SQL is too miserable to work with for developers to be horny.
Still the best solution for what it does, usually, but it's a pain in the ass.
much worse because the 'r's in 'squirrel' are the most important letters in pronouncing 'squirrel' and they aren't in SQL. if it was SQRL maybe!
what fool decided to call them 'transactional databases' and not 'piggy banks'
Because it was originally Structured English Query Language and was legit called SEQUEL until it had to get changed because some near-defunct aircraft manufacturer had the trademark
Many don't. It took me like 5 years to work out WTF the "Sequel" people were talking about.
in my full-stack programming crash course i spent an ungodly amount of time trying to unfuck a SQL database for our final project website and somehow i still don't know how to do a SQL injection attack
