if i want to make myself mad i can just listen to the ace combat 7 score (or any of the series' OSTs really) and think about how it got no recognition because unless it's a western AAA release, or Final Fantasy, big game soundtracks just get stuffed into a bucket of "yeah it was probably fine, anyway" level of consideration

I try not to get too annoyed with the ivory tower that is mainstream games coverage but the general failure to highlight literally anything outside of the standard fare has always left me pretty jaded. Ace Combat consistently puts out a generationally great game soundtrack to basically zero fanfare.
My first exposure to ace combat music was a random Megalith Angus Dei/Space Jam mix in an autoplaylist and it went so hard that I was forced to look up the series it came from (and I was not disappointed)
Weirdly enough, my fav song is another mix/mashup cover of daredevil + magic spear by a command and conquer cover band (tiberian sons)
Oh hey what this post got me to find the link to post it an apparently they have a whole album of AC covers 
now as of 12 days ago. neat.
