dude i am going to go insane i need people to stop posting iwata anecdotes amidst widespread industry layoffs. he was a better ceo than most but he absolutely was acting in accordance with japanese regulations and laws when it came to operating a behemoth of a corporation. you're a goddamn fool if you think any japanese company wouldn't mass fire people if they could. capitalism is a global disease.

There does seem to be a desire in a lot of people to try and find an example of someone who isn't contributing to this awful awful hellscape we exist within but it's like... Idk I hate to sound cynical but you don't get to the position of CEO by being a wholly kind and understanding and selfless person
........but big AAA companies are never focused on money first and upfront before anything else! /s There was that news last year I think that QA people for Nintendo said they are treated like shit/disposable/not normal respect there just like other AAA companies have done.
Something I have learned about gamers over the years is that Nintendo Fans are games version of Disney Adults. Because they made Mario and some of the old hats there have some interesting quotes about how games were/are/should be made they think Nintendo is this mythical paragon of gamedev virtue.
my problem is that even if you were to believe the lie that iwata is a saint, just believing in that lie really hard is not going to make more corporate saints grow out of the ground. Those actions were taken in spite of the system not because of it
