A friend was playing Mirror's Edge the other night and it got me to thinking about 2008-2012 EA and the small period of time where they gave a shit about making interesting games (and then opted to overbudget them, simply not market them, having all of them commercially fail, and decide the problem was gamers not wanting single-player games) which of course got me thinking about Syndicate.
Which got me thinking about the absolutely sick remixes they got brostep/dance producers to make of the game's theme because it was 2012 and people were still boppin' to Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. Getting remixes from
Skrillex
Digitalism
Flux Pavillion
and Nero
Bygone era of AAA game development (the one where AAA publishers are actively chasing new IP and/or ideas) crossed with a real "surely the kids will like this" marketing tactic that definitely didn't pan out but sure made for four extremely killer tracks.
