so even if you are a Good, "Climate Conscious Consumer" and you purchase an electric car to reduce carbon emitted from driving, then unless you're charging at home (which ppl in apartments usually cant do),
the car-charging companies are quite possibly selling other companies permission to emit the carbon you have saved on your behalf, neutralizing the fact that you own an electric car.
also electrify america was started by fucking Volkswagen under a court order to atone for its emissions scandal and "offset" the emissions it lied about. so the company that got in trouble for emitting more pollutants than they said, was court-ordered to get even richer selling electric vehicle infrastructure, and then they may very well double dipping and getting EVEN RICHER selling off the fact that people are charging at their stations, to let other companies emit carbon and claim they offset it. so they arent actually even offsetting their lied-about carbon!
