Taking a break from what would probably be a delightful death march of "playing all the Dragon Quest games in order" to...firing up my Pixel Remaster cart and starting with the start. Final Fantasy I-XII (minus XI) Switch death march commence, yeehaw.
I'm pretty early in I think (just killed the Earth Fiend), but...I like it! Lotta backtracking, lotta "hey cool, you know that place you were just at? Deep in that dungeon? Go stick this in there, and go deeper."
I think I prefer the vibes of Dragon Quest over this so far, but it's been compelling enough for me to play it most of the day. Not really messing with the Boosts or anything, but will sometimes let auto combat take the wheel (sometimes to my detriment, when I forget the last attacks I used were extremely MP-limited spells).
Gonna keep at it! Wanna see this through!
