It's hilarious to me how when I first started out with Linux in the mid '90s I was absolutely appalled and put off by how primitive it looked, and I chased fancy themes all throughout the late '90s and 2000s with glassy icons and skeumorphism...
...and now in the year of our Linus 2023 I tire of modern UI and am returning to those first primitive waters like some prehistoric amphibian wriggling into a primordial pond, except the pond is an IRIX desktop that looks like it comes from 1991.
