IRIX was great if you didn't have to do anything on your computer besides use whatever custom software was made for you to do your job. (IIRC it was a tremendous pain to upgrade to new versions, too.)

Sure was pretty though. I wish I could make MacOS or Windows look like this.

It's kind of astounding that you can't make Mac OS look like this any more. Like, say what you will about NeXT in general, the NEXTSTEP OS was quite forward-thinking and had a nearly-identical interface.

i don't daily drive Haiku, but honestly it seems to be shaping up incredibly well. it feels great to use tbh

It's a wonderful feeling OS. Krita running in a Haiku VM ran smoother than it does on my native install of Win 10! It doesn't have tablet support yet IIRC, but if it did, I'd be tempted to install Haiku as a secondary.
