biblically accurate laptop that's just a bunch of strangely shaped panels of keyboards, touchpads, and monitors all connected with various hinges, ~15 completely different cpus of various architectures hardwired to various components so that all need to be used. the cpus range from modern stuff to 8 bit stuff like the 6502

This is actually not too far off from how an actual computer works nowadays, there are hidden processors for system management and cryptography secrets and network acceleration and just writing complicated device interfaces in a programming language instead of making a state machine out of logic gates

when i say 15 cpus of various different architectures hardwired to various components i mean that the programmer must write and compile code for dedicated cpus such as the motorola 68000, zilog z80, arm9, intel core solo (i did not check the cpu names i can't be bothered). not inaccessible cpus that happen to be in peripherals.

the closest comparison i think i can make is nintendo ds, with an arm9 and arm7. in practice nintendo didn't allow programmers to program the arm7 themselves but it was absolutely possible to do

68000 + Z80 is also a valid combination, that's what's inside the Sega Genesis! The 68000 is the main CPU and the Z80 is the audio coprocessor

Add the Sega CD and 32x to the mix and you have another 68000 at a different clock speed as well as two SH-2 processors

have you seen DOOM 32X Resurrection? apparently the official release was a rush job and doesn't really take advantage of the hardware, but the community has made a new port that's heavily optimized and more than twice as fast https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Doom_32X:_Resurrection
