is there, like, a term for a kind of arousal whenever you see something appealing to you that isn't necessarily a sexual feeling, but it does kinda tickle at least something adjacent to sexuality?
because i feel that whenever i see some absolutely gorgeous brush geometry and texture work
it's almost like a sexual identity, it feels like, where you just know you like guys or gals or enbies or whatever, and being by them just makes you happy even when you're not in the mood, but it's with game visuals, not people.
I can acknowledge the artistry of modern games and how astounding they look, but they don't... click with me the way impeccable Brutalist brushwork and pixellated textures do. Retro stuff makes me giddy in that way like if I'm sitting next to someone I like-like and they do that little thing where they like you, too, but they're too shy to admit it just yet, but when you do that experimental lean against them all super-casual and no-big-deal, you feel that slight pressure of them leaning back subtly that lets you know you didn't just fuck up?
