best of luck gravis!!! i hope i'll be able to support you more going forward.
Best of luck! I have been following your content for a long time now and I am so glad to see that it has led to this point. You definitely are a highlight for me to see show up on YouTube.
This post spurred me to finally get around to becoming a Patron.
good luck! I know you've talked on here about more complicated feelings about this move but I hope you can reclaim some joy & energy with it as you mentioned here.
Congratulations! I'm so glad you are in a position to be able to do this. I look forward to the future, however unchanged!
Good luck dude, glad you're getting out from under a shit job
Super proud to support the person behind my favorite Youtube channel. I'm a patron now!
thank you for expressly understanding the whole fixed income thing re: patreon, that means a lot to disabled folks
and good luck and godspeed
Said it in YouTube comments, saying it again here: I'm stoked you get to do this. I know you emphasized in your post before that you know it's a privilege etc. We can take that as read. I'm still happy to see it. Parasocial acquaintances taking steps towards more happiness and personal freedom might not be a direct benefit to me, but I'll take what can be pried from the world by whatever means these days.
Since you posted this I've made a point to go back and watch all your scripted videos that I've missed so far. I just finished the video about that hacky fake terminal system and my mind is REELING from the implications and those implications are probably going to end up in a short story at some point
Hi lzrd. I'm really glad you're thriving by making the hobby you always had your career. From my side, this development seemed like it was inevitable because for as long as I knew you, you had that spark of being interesting to listen to, even when discussing things that I never had any interest in beyond passing; Things like you explaining to me how inkjet printers worked or, ironically, how cathode rays worked that first time I got high.
Maybe it was hard for you to see, but one constant I noticed over the years was how you stole the show in every room you were in, no matter who was in the room, in a good way! So yeah, I'm not at all surprised that your youtube channel blew up enough to make it your day job and escape the same crushing job you had back when I knew you. I'll always be here rooting for you, so keep at it.
PS: You're not a dumbass for thinking your channel was a fad and was going to blow over; you were being practical.
PPS: If I'm wrong and you were just being a dumbass, that's okay too; you're our loveable dumbass.
