i recently switched to Nix and i like it but also have complicated feelings. it's kinda weirdly implemented and janky and the support and docs are pretty rough, but it's a So Much Better way of managing a system it's really hard for me to go back despite it's flaws. worth trying out as long as you don't mind a lot of tinkering imo.

i will also say if you wanna try out something else, i like Void Linux a lot more than Arch, personally.

FWIW I've tried to switch to nixos 3 separate times, and every time I got too frustrated and went back to arch. It might be worth tipping your toe in first by installing nix on arch and trying to use it a bit. If you like it and get the hang of the nix language, nixos might be a great choice! If you struggle with it (like I have), it might be more trouble than it's worth
