i've used in QEMU a bunch and also on bare metal a few times. it's a really fascinating experiment and i wish the best for it! i've done my part in porting software (mostly videogame sourceports) to give it some games to play.
depending on how you use the computer, it might be totally suitable to daily drive! but it's really dependent on what software you use, and where you go on the web. and i might not have to say it, but hardware support is really scattershot too. for example, on my Dell laptop from 2017, the wireless network card would not work unless the machine was booted with UEFI (which is not the default installation setup). that one really got me and some other Haiku users confused!
anyway i'm ramblin. i think it's a really great set of ideals for how a personal operating system should be designed, and i'm gonna be watching it closely from here on out. and i'll be popping in every now and then!!
