After a previous job let me go, I spent a lot of time beating myself up over how I couldn't see that I had stopped caring. Then I noticed that I hadn't pushed anything to GitHub in five months, after at least one thing every day for years. And then I followed my weekly-at-the-time to-do lists back for almost another year where I had "update rΓ©sumΓ©" at the top of the list.
Oh, right. I did see it. And I ignored it. That went well...
Listening to yourself is hard, unfortunately, and we all probably need to get better at it.
