That's right, everyone's¹ favorite week of sharing music that is far too long and uncomfortably slow is almost upon us! Next week, I'm going to do that Thing That I Do where I post non-stop drone recommendations for a full week. And in addition to the fruits of my own new research into the genre, I want to hear some more recommendations from all of y'all!

Is this just a thinly-veiled excuse for me to crowd-source some new music to listen to while I go into deep-focus mode on a project? Absolutely, yes. Is it also a great way for you to hear and experience new drone music that you wouldn't have heard otherwise? Also, yes! Is it further a way for you to flex your music nerd cred and pull out some incredibly deep cuts? By jove, it is!

Get in the comments, hit me with your recommendations, and help make my strange hyperfixation even cooler than it would've been otherwise!

You can check out the original thread here if you need some inspiration for what I've played in the past.

¹ my, and no one else's, i have no illusions about this

I need metal music that is too long, too slow, and too weird, and I'm tired of finding the same handful of albums that Rate Your Music recommends over and over again. Give me your drone metal, your atmospheric sludge, your blackgaze, your post-metal, your stoner albums that are a single 60-minute long track at a brisk 12 BPM. I have a need for a specific brand of music, and I will listen to them!!
