Here is the second half of my analysis for episode 2 of the NieR: Automata Ver 1.1a anime.

This section covers the payoff for the stories and references the anime set up in the first half of the episode, and also contains my first educated stab at an overall theory describing the relationship between the anime and the game.

Let me know if I've missed anything or if I didn't mention your favorite detail, and I'll see you next week for episode 3!

If you love ghosts and girls who love girls, please do give it a try!

In the second story, Lily of the Suburb, our protagonist Aayla and her girlfriend Najwa set out to pick up Aayla's little sister Deja and her friends from a Halloween party in 2010s America. While driving back, the GPS begins to glitch out, and soon everyone is horrified to discover they've entered an empty copy of the neighborhood they were in...and they're not alone. Today's promotional poster is a parody of The Sixth Sense, a classic American ghost film with a famously sad ending. Though, Suburb doesn't get anywhere near as sad as that!
