The modern controls make it so you can worry more about the fundamentals instead of the inputs; the ingame tutorials are lit and the game gives you all the information you need to succeed. The World Tour story mode actively pushes you to try to build your skills by incentivising different techniques (and I hear the minigames are on point but I haven't gotten far at all)
You can easily swap between control schemes, so I'm using modern in ranked and classic in story to push myself to getting inputs down. The training room has so many options I haven't delved into from specific scenarios to input displays to frame advantage info to programming your dummy to do certain moves.
The game is fun! I feel like I'm actually understanding a ""real"" fighting game, and that's neat.
