that's it that's the post

okay but also it's not

Just like how you get a song stuck in your head I get motions stuck in mine, and most often it's shooting or archery (hatchet throwing, sprinting, and vaulting1 are runners up); that plus archery season plus wow-i-hate-timechange-i-am-disconnected-from-myself had me relisting what I wanna do with a bow and right now it's:

  • learn thumb release
  • Enjoy pull-swoosh-thunk
  • finally decide if I should fully switch to left handed for my eye (cross dominance baybee)
    • give up and embrace learning to shoot ambidextrously instead
  • decide what I want in a bow so I can get a heavier draw one that I could possibly hunt with (aka at least a 30# draw for IL)
    • do I want to bowhunt? maybe! My FiL would appreciate it and there are enough aspects I do so
    • I know I don't want a compound bow or even a modern recurve; I'm not really about arrow shelves 🤷
    • my gut instinct of "tiny bow he he he" forever at war with "my draw length is something like 30" and that's not accounting for the extra draw thumb release can have"

  1. like the parkour kind; I used to be able to pop over things ~chest high but I try to stick to waist high after a) being "old" now and b) slipping once
