Other important SR news:

  • Big Run will have set gold/silver/bronze numbers (and you'll know when you hit silver it sounds like?). This is a good change. The numbers were only going to get higher, and that's gonna turn people off from participating, which will make the problem even worse. I sooorta wish they'd change to a different badge for this system, but that's just grumpyme talking. Gold fish for all who work for it!!
    (PS: big run this weekend!!)

  • Getting a SR stage badge raises your starting rank; a gold stage badge means you start at VP 400. This is amazing news; makes the badges worth more and will definitely help cut down the time needed to hit gold on a stage!! Gimme a head start on good matchmaking, pls

  • Smell meter will now be shaped as the rotation's king, not just Always Cohozuna. Nice!

oh my god the starting rank change is HUGE

a big part of why i've been playing less is i don't have time to do big EVP grinds anymore, and it felt bad just logging on to do like 4 shifts of 165% HL gameplay and then come back in 40 hours...

this actually gives me a reason to get badges and rewards me with instantly better matchmaking and higher HL gameplay

it's gonna be so nice!! it is is such a time sink, and a lot of it is getting past 150, especially on some level/weapon combos. Excited to get golds in everything and then enjoy just,,, permanently starting with The Hard Stuff.

I'm also curious to see what happens if you, say, demote yourself to play with a friend without inflating difficulty too much--will you autobounce back up at turnover? If so,,, that would be rad

I'm fairly certain the set numbers are just for the decoration! Patch notes only mention the decoration, plus the the thing about splatnet showing you your exact percentile (above 20%) makes me think the badges are remaining true top 50, 20, and 5 percent.
