I've quiet enjoyed using RSS instead of a youtube account and having cookies 100% blocked on the site. It makes searches a bit more tolerable, and also makes it glaringly obvious how aggro youtube is about sucking people in to various unhealthy topics. Once you get past any useful search results it's just the WORST crap, absolute "made from the butthole" material.

I don't ever use the recommendations feature, so the "DF Tube" has been very helpful for removing that section and the home page. I've only used subscriptions.
the worst part is that it doesn't even flood you with firearm videos, since those are algorithm-suppressed, so instead it floods you with what it assumes firearms fans want to watch other than firearms, which is usually fascism
