My personal understanding does not sync up with the Empty Spaces Organic Understanding, but to me, she will always be Alita (and her sisters-in-fiction; those who have to grapple at identity through the lens and mask of being built, rebuilt, honed and treated as Weapon, whose owners/handlers/users/creators only cede them the shape of a person as a tactical edge and a comfort for the owner (and the frequent attractive nature of the body is part of that comfort/power move more than anything else) but who still reach for, and sometimes find, something more)
