I've hit a point with my current story in progress where something is wrong and I don't know what it is.
For lack of a better way of phrasing it, it's like when you taste a dish with 5+ spices in it and you know the flavor balance is off but you can't tell if you added too much of one thing or not enough of something else and it's not done cooking yet so you can correct it but you have to figure out what change is needed to get it right.
The hard thing is I'm 8 chapters in. It's early enough where major revisions are possible. But is that the right call? I don't know! Thus the problem.
