Oh that's a whole different issue but yeah, that is a thing. No, I'm just tired of seeing people circlejerk over a different author who is, at least, less shitty than Rowling.
"Less shitty than Rowling" is a very large field. Though I guess it does at least eliminate Orson Scott Card and all those Republican politicians' ghostwriters.
Yeah, deliberately being vague here because when I say it like this, people agree, but the moment the author's name gets mentioned fans of this author's work get summoned and a lot of them do not tolerate anything less than positive said about their favorite author ever. It probably would be safe on cohost, but last time I said something bad about the author I got a death threat, soooooooooo....
VERY understandable. It's amazing how low some people's threshold for sending a death threat is these days. Honestly I don't think there's ever any justification, mind.
