I have been hesitant to talk about it much, but I've been going through various medical tests recently because I'm in a lot of pain. All these recent layoffs need to be understood first and foremost through the lens of capital fighting back against worker power. Tech workers need to get to a point where we are willing to strike for better conditions, and things like more warning before layoffs are a core part of that. We need to learn to fight for each other, or else in ten years' time we will be looking at a drastically different industry, a far less pleasant one to work in.
The future is not written. If we stand together, we can change it.
