thinking about expanding my post about obsidian into a proper guide on how to migrate away from google docs and into obsidian while losing as few features as possible and gaining even more than you could’ve asked for

I have been using Obsidian less than a week and holy hell I'm sold on it. Even using it for tabletop stuff is incredibly nice.
oh shit. would you be up for dming me what your thoughts and growing pains were so i could factor that into the post? trying to get more of a normie perspective for the post since i went into obsidian three years ago already knowing how it worked, so i have very little context for how the average person would use obsidian
Yeah absolutely. I'll try to fire something off when I get to my computer in the afternoon
would definitely love to read that to get additional ideas for what I could use it for. I installed Obsidian a long time ago but did not actually start Using it until a friend started talking about it a few days ago.
the basic goal of the guide will be to get obsidian up to basic feature parity with google docs. almost everything except collaboration (which local-first tools can never do anyways). then the back end of the post will be showing off cool organizational features that obsidian has that google docs could never. i actually managed to run through this as a test drive with a writer last night and it went incredibly well.
no. sorry about that but spreadsheets are kind of a whole different app if you get what i mean. you’d want to break your tools up across multiple apps. just make sure to backup your google stuff to keep it safe. sorry
