i made myself late to work by writing a vaguely worded email to my read later app about not covering “both sides” in their article recommendation coverage because they’re recommending effective altruist shit. i was trying to sound like a well meaning liberal that just wanted to see more equal coverage while i was like “hey you claim to portray your human-curated recommendations as neutral and evergreen, but they only line up with the average beliefs of a tech bro, and feature basically no non-white people and literally no queer and trans people. what the fuck?”
i cannot wait for my subscription period to end so i have justification to leave because i don’t want to put in the work to migrate out when the competition kinda sucks and i already paid for it and also the reading and highlighting experience is nice.
