I came across it because Rami Ismail wrote the foreword and it's a really good resource for examining what you're trying to make and how to navigate the whole process.
i have watched probably 200 videos in the last few months, i can recommend some channels for Godot if you are interested, reading materials is pretty sparse or very general/old it seems

yeah i get to either learn lua and get half of the performance. or learn any c-like language and get more performance but less DX
Lua is pretty fast and nice overall, unless you are doing something intense, dealing with C probably is not worth it?
i’d have to learn a new language no matter what if i’m working on the playdate and i like having the extra legroom, so i thought it might be better to learn a C-like idk
everybody is different! it is just that C is a lot more tedious and is more difficult to debug certain issues and run the same code that uses hardware on multiple platforms, but a lot of people love it and if you learn it turn you will probably understand how other languages work internally a lot better because most of them are written in C!
