This weekend I was the head judge for this year's EMEA continentals event, the second biggest Netrunner event in the world. It went so, so, well and I am so incredibly proud of what the team achieved. this was my first time being head judge of an event: I still can't believe that me, a little tournament organiser in the UK, got to be so important at such a big event. I loved being visibly queer in such a queer community, and I hope that other queer people see that they can help run these kinds of events too. I'll be writing the experience up in more detail once I return to the UK - there were a lot of challenges that are interesting to talk about!
Anyway, you get to see my outfits: the judges got bright pink shirts so that we could be clearly visible, which I tied up because it was too hot and wore with cute black shorts. The other outfit was for the Friday, when I actually played some Netrunner rather than judging - it's inspired by a runner called Smoke (particularly this image of her) who I was playing on the day. I have the kind of boots she's wearing but didn't want to wear them in 30⁰ heat! I'm glad that my confidence has increased enough recently to be happy showing some skin because otherwise I would have died in the heat lol
Anyway maybe I should sleep some more night night
You did an absolutely amazing job with the entire event, and you looked incredible! I literally got asked by a friend back in the UK to pass on compliments about your judge outfit! It's been an absolute privilege to watch your confidence grow these last few months (and see your style game improve dramatically simply because you're more confident in what you're wearing).
Also hell yeah I kissed the head judge and the EMEA champion and stole the QTM flag I'm so good at netrunner tournaments.
