i hope this message finds you well. did you know: there are games you can play, using your personal computer? they're called, "computer games." they're like the normal games you play at home, only instead of a board and pieces, you can use your keyboard and pointing device to push some graphics around on your monitor screen. they have the disadvantage of being harder to make house rules for, because the computer software is only programmed to follow what was already written in the manual that came in the box with it. nevertheless i think this is a cute and novel use of technology and i'm excited to see if it catches on.
if you click through the big rectangle that says "click" on the webpage linked above, it'll start up the program for a computer game where you can use the arrow key cluster (usually underneath your page-up/page-down keys) and the keys for the letters Z, X, A, and S to move a dog in a space suit around a small cavern in an alien planet. the object is to explore it until you find a power source for your spaceship.
have any of you played with these sort of things? do you find them any more fun than traditional games?
