joking aside though, please play mother. it's easily one of my favorites, if not my favorite game of all time. it made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me stand up out of my seat and holler at my screen. tracks from the companion album regularly make it into my playlists. it got me invested enough to draw out a dungeon map by hand instead of just looking one up (just don't mind the parts where the straight ladders stop being straight)

it's funny, and charming, and melancholic, and gorgeous, and a damn good rpg. before this I didn't know a game for the nintendo entertainment system could make me feel this many emotions. happy mother's day, y'all. please play mother
