i have literally never pressed them on purpose the only time they get used is when i'm trying to navigate a menu using the arrows or home button and i put my thumb in the wrong place by mistake, ejecting me from whatever i was watching/doing before and bringing up an app i wasn't looking for. I DON'T EVEN HAVE NETFLIX COME ON

the HBO streaming service used to be called HBO Go, but when they rebranded to HBO Max, for whatever reason they didn't/couldn't rename the app. so they made a new fucking app, which means the HBO button on my Fire TV remote opens the now defunct HBO Go app, which tells me to download HBO Max to stream all my favorite nudity-laden drama shows
what a dumbass idea these buttons were. give us remappable buttons you cowards!!
if i'm ever stuck with using a remote like this the very first thing i do is remove those buttons entirely.
