It lets you create
inline disclosure elements
This can be used to include a little bit of trivia or an explanation for interested readers without stretching out the post too much.

Since it’s still a fairly normal disclosure element, you can also use markdown inside. Or add images:

or whatever your heart desires, really
that can be clicked to reveal content inside a little “window”. Try clicking/tapping the one in the previous sentence.

super into this

also super into that gradient

also hot tip that will save you so much time: in a gradient you don't have to write a color twice, you can just write #14367B 3rem 4rem. it's like they knew we'd want to do this

unfortunately this has inspired me to make a
VH1 pop-up video

variant which is clearly ridiculous

This looks interesting! I'm having some trouble making it actually stay inline, it seems to really want to move to the next line. I'm not sure what's gone wrong:

This does not stay <details style="display:inline-flex;padding:0 0.2em;background:#3e66b6;color:#ffffff;box-shadow: 0 0 0 1px black;border-radius: 0.3em"><summary style="display:inline;font-size:0;cursor:default"><span style="font-size:1rem">text here</span></summary><div style="background:#ffffff;color:#000000;margin-bottom:0.2em;padding: 0 0.2em;border-radius: 0.1em">Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Nullam sed aliquet tellus, sed malesuada mauris. Maecenas id consequat dolor. Quisque tincidunt neque purus, consectetur tristique turpis sodales nec. Donec sit amet lectus lobortis enim pharetra pharetra. Mauris iaculis rutrum est, at auctor nulla pretium id. Vestibulum nec tortor eu justo efficitur ultrices. Ut sagittis at justo id vulputate. Integer massa magna, mollis consequat ipsum ac, pharetra sollicitudin urna. Phasellus hendrerit volutpat dolor a varius. </div></details> on the same line

Also the copy-paste bit seems to throw off cohost by adding return spaces before the end of the tags.

The toggle dark mode button works fine if my browser is set to LIGHT mode.

The toggle dark mode button does not work when my browser is set to dark mode. Toggling it does nothing, and being on dark mode shows the page on light mode.
