I'm trying to imagine being the kind of person who would be genuinely excited at this news, and I just can't fathom it. I know those people are out there, they aren't fictitious, but I just don't know how they do it
this completely defeats the purpose of mspaint as a tool to make low effort, shitty art for comedic purposes in forum posts
Why does every fucking "AI art" thing look like this. Garish colours, meaningless "evocative" composition
they could’ve added like, text that doesn’t rasterize when you breathe on it
trying to contemplate the number of people who are hyped about generative art algorithms and also would want to use MS Paint to interface with it, and coming up with an empty set
it's a perfect example of a feature that's for the executives, not for the customers
it costs MS very little since it's just feeding input to a cloud service they already have for some other reason, and they can cram it full of microtransactions (usage is limited by "credits", which people will no doubt be able to buy)
I've heard through the grapevine that all teams at Microsoft are being pushed to integrate AI into their products
they're also not the only tech company I've heard of doing this (the one I used to work at is too)
