nvm, it was worth it to watch the x-files reboot seasons as I get to add another character spotted in the LOST-XFiles continuity that I've imagined and, frankly, nobody else cares about.

Getting through the X-files reboot episodes with my brother, almost done. I cannot-- in good faith-- call any of the series good at any point after like maybe season 4. I'm convinced we're both only still watching to keep up appearances that we have something to do together as siblings.
Like, they're just constantly tying and untying loose ends and this continues through the reboot, even though it was (poorly, but nevertheless) tied up by the end of the original series. Would have been cool if they just took notice that the only real appeal of the original was the monster of the week episodes and exclusively did those for the reboot. Would have been cooler if they just didn't do anything at all.
Didn't watch the movies and I'm not telling my brother that I can just find them "somewhere online ;)" cuz they probably suck too. You can realistically skip just about all the main mythos episodes and also not watch anything past, idk, season 6 and you'll get everything you need to get out of the series.
While LOST was often unpredictable, at least things made sense enough in hindsight. Also watch the episodes that share common actors with LOST cuz I Want to Believe™ that these shows share a mythos and Benjamin Linus somehow makes an appearance pretending to be a man-child where he can will into existence the Brady Bunch when he gets stressed out and he just somehow doesn't use these powers in LOST.
