Fae!!!

my copy of Pikmin 4 didn't arrive today.
two more days of shattering my heart into pieces trying to get the platinum medals in Pikmin 3 mission mode.

Edit: Oh wait, today's Friday, it's USPS I think, and they operate Saturday, could be tomorrow.
...nvm, estimate says it's even further away than it was earlier? It's gonna have to pass back through the one it was at this morning, lmao.

Idk what's even going on with X-files anymore. Sometimes they just show the most absurd scene and you can tell it's supposed to be dramatic, but they're so ridiculous you have to laugh and then later they just casually dump the deaths of two major characters in conversation; lmao. The main plot episodes are too tangled for me to take seriously anymore. Just boring and confusing.

LOST had a similar problem with frequent important character deaths, but they managed to keep the stakes feeling high for most of it through specific characters and the idea of a greater plan (it had it's moments, though). X-files is just so goofy, they act like there's some sort of overarching plan, but it feels clear that they're just flying by the seat of their pants, imo, at least at this point in the series. Like, just give us more Scooby Doo monster-of-the-week-type shenanigans, idc about the main plot.

what's a fun pokemon for cool people to draw? Thinking I wanna try making something maybe made out of more complex shapes than the Applin family or Clamperl, nothing with too many little details though...

I found out that, as a general rule, most small-sized first stage pokemon fit into a 40x40 pixel canvas (48x48 for medium and middle stages, maximum of 56x56 for final stage, large, & detailed pokemon) in gen 1&2, so I'll be trying to loosely stick to that going forward, unless I need the extra space. Clamperl easily fits with a bit of room to spare.

They might be a forgettable pokemon to most, but I have a good amount of nostalgia for Clamperl, they're the reason the gen 3 contest theme is forever stuck in my head. I don't think I ever beat the master rank with mine though; too young at the time to comprehend how contests worked. I don't think I have that Clamperl anymore, idk where they went; lost to time, I guess.

Might be a hot take, but I like Clamperl better than either of it's evolutions. They're just an adorable, sleepy little guy nestled comfortably on it's little flesh-bed. The evolutions are obscure to obtain and underwhelming, imo. I didn't even know they evolved when I was a kid, had to figure that out from my brother's Diamond/Pearl Prima guide. Kinda has the Remoraid-Octillery problem of evolving into something largely unrelated in design to the previous stage. I know the theme is handgun to cannon w/ Remoraid and Octillery, but no idea what they were getting at with Clamperl to Huntail/Gorebyss. It doesn't seem to be related to, like, obscure Japanese mythology or anything like that either.
