I literally passed this yesterday while playing the vr one and getting to soak in the detail revealed a super cool dev trick: the blood on her face, as well as skulls n bones and other bits they want you to focus on, have a thin over lay with a transparent blotched blood texture, thus making the whole thing give off so much more detail just using deceptive vertices!
It's similar to the trick fallout 3 used with rubble, where an extra layer of transparent textures is just wrapped around simple shapes, so you read way more detail at a fraction of the cost
