every olympic sport charted by how much of a COOL SPECTACLE it is to watch and how much you can TELL WHEN WATCHING it that the people playing it are doing INCREDIBLE FEATS OF SKILL.

Please note that this measured in terms of AVERAGE DUMB JOE'S ability to understand things. Yes, all of these sports are incredibly high skill endeavors, but how much will your average american schmuck watching on nbc be able to TELL that they're such feats? will he be impressed? will he go "nah i could do that" like an idiot? this is the question we answer

also please disagree with me i don't know SHIT

Sport climbing goes in upper right for sure; I'd put fencing a little lower down because it usually comes down to both fencers making contact but the electronic scoring determining one of them was 0.0001 seconds earlier so they win

Artistic gymnastics is also a lower-right for me because it's great to watch but the commentators are always saying "wow, terrible slip, that's going to cost him" when my Average Schmuck reaction is "I don't think I could flip around like that that if I trained for one hundred years"
