Can confirm things like this are happening. Youtube embeds on social media websites occasionally stop working entirely unless I disable adblock. They'll either sit on a black screen forever or just straight up dump me out to a "Something went wrong" error in the embed frame.

On Youtube itself, where I now have adblock turned off (since I'm on my cousin's Youtube Premium family plan), Youtube is demanding I disable Firefox's tracking cookie blocker before it'll let me manage my playlists.

A modal on Youtube saying I need to grant Google.com access to cookies before I can add videos to a playlist.

The ridiculous part of that being it never needed cookie access before last month, and it only does this when I try to edit playlists directly. Using any other playlist editor (like the one that pops up from the three dots next to a video thumbnail) still works just fine.

I have no issues adding/removing videos from playlists in other playlist manager modals on Youtube, cookies or no.

This could get bloody fast.

in reply to @blazehedgehog's post:

i had a weird moment where i was reading an article of a friend where they embedded YT vids from publishers to highlight recent retro reissues, and all of the embeds were replaced by capatcha barriers that would not clear no matter how many times I filled them out. Said my IP had "suspicious activity" and went away when I went to YT proper and played videos normally. Extremely weird and I wonder if it's to do with the blockers and anti trackers i use on safari, reading this...
