went to the beach in ballard yesterday and went swimming for the first time since my early teens and it was good as hell. definitely took a little adjusting to being in the water again (and the water being cold as fuck compared to what i'd been used to from san diego), but once i got accustomed to it and remembered a basic breaststroke, damn swimming is so much fun??? moving your body through water just feels really primordially satisfying in a way that's hard to describe.
definitely wanna get out swimming again more the rest of this summer, especially now that i don't have work to worry about for the near future. it's real cool living in a place with beaches again (now if only i could find a place here that has a decent cali burrito).
