I'm really enjoying island sanctuary in ffxiv. It's really nice being able to run around and chop some trees and hit rocks and craft some things from that without having to engage with the full depth of ffxiv's DoH/DoL systems. I do enjoy its normal crafting/gathering from time to time, but it's definitely A Lot mechanically, and sometimes I want something a bit chiller, which island sanctuary has felt really nice for so far.
I'm really glad design-wise that it seems to be pretty tightly capped to mostly just rewarding 15-20 minutes of tending once or twice a week. That definitely seems like the right balance to keep it from turning into an upkeep chore. But also I do wish that the initial burst of stuff to do upon unlocking it lasted a few more hours than it does currently. It'd be nice to have a little more stuff to do to spend time with it while it's still fresh and exciting.
