My buddy who I streamed with tonight, Pilum, is a good dude. I was talking about pronoun preferences, how I’m easygoing with which ones people use, but how I have the ones I prefer, and he had a perfect analogy:
"It's like a name spelled differently. If someone's a Jon with no H, or a Marc with a C instead of a K, and you don’t know, of course you might spell it wrong, but only because you might not know any better, and that’s fine- but if you know that's how they write their name and you keep doing it wrong? It's not funny, you're just an asshole."
I’m really grateful for my friends. They’re dorks, sometimes they say and do stupid stuff, but at the end of the day, they’re there for me, no matter how much my world may differ from theirs- and as one of the only two genderfucky furries in a group of otherwise CIS dudes, our worlds are VERY different, ahaha- but they take the time to listen, to understand, and then to respect as best they can.
God, do I wish that’s how the world just… worked.
