But it really does seem like LLMs and generative AI’s end goals, whether intended or not, are to do Ministry of Truth shit to the collective sense of reality of entire swathes of people for the sakes of corporations and totalitarian governments. To create an unreality so convincing to the average schlub that it can be altered as needed to make them think and believe in a wholly imagined reality of those powers’ choosing.
