It’s infuriating because if you’re one of the folks who gets to the good stuff you got through the bad part, and know how unhinged you sound to someone going through it.
Like we all know it, but it feels like you’re an asshole the whole time you assure folks one of your favorite video games ever is waiting after the first chapter, just trust me.
YEAH like the whole time I’m doing ARR I’m like “this is drudgery, why am I doing any of this, these threads are going nowhere”- and then they VERY SUDDENLY GO SOMEWHERE and despite maybe all the skepticism in the world, despite my doubts, it really and truly gets its hooks in you in the best way
and it only gets better!!!
i still feel bad telling people "just wait till the end of ARR/start of HW it gets so good and soars from there" but it's definitely true-- ARR is salvaging the world left after 1.0 and trying to establish plot hooks that don't go anywhere (for now) to be revisited in later expacs and it just sucks cause it's 50 whole levels of setup for future payoff qwq;;
