i feel like some people don't understand that when you comment something on someone's post you've entered their domain. you don't get to be rude to me in my domain lol. you can disagree but you gotta come correct if your hopping in peoples comments. especially when it's about things that really don't matter like programming languages or what not.

Every time I get into even the minorest of tussles, misunderstandings, or debates, my heart rate spikes and i worry about it for like 2 hours while pacing around the house lmao
lololol me too. i feel like it's almost worse if it happens on the internet
i've gotten to an age where a lot of times if i feel this way, i just delete my post/comment after a while. or i just never respond to the messages. i can't handle worrying about this shit in my life
100% its never worth it responding. i tried to get "revenge" by blocking and reporting rude behavior but it didnt really make me feel better
I got into one last night, on the most stupid misunderstandings of the decade, but it was 100% my bad.
It happened 3 months ago and I left my friend's chat for like 3 weeks, after an absolutely nasty fight. Came back though. Then last night I just cut it off, let it cool down, and just take the L and carry on.
In my defence, they did throw back some cheap insults back, referencing the previous incident. I have indeed just shut up, and just be more assertive. And then I fuck up once and it resets the counter.
It was hard as fuck to control the absolute rage and anguish of wanting to insult the shit out of that guy, and just cry to sleep...
But yeah, takes a bunch of burnt bridges and heartaches to realise that it's best to just not say your opinion outright, but to assert if it's a good moment to do so.
I think it depends on the battles.
I do believe in diplomacy. You can fuck off someone in a way that shouldn't be confrontational per-se, standing up to your beliefs, and not look bad.
But it's just a skill that's so hard that sometimes it's just inevitable (and sometimes so satisfying) to just be a hater.
But yeah, as I get older I start believing more and more that I just want to be chill and block/ignore those haters. It's about what makes you happier after all, and that's the only thing that always matters.
