“Just talk to them like an adult and don’t be petty” is the first and only rule of solving minor disputes with people you don’t want to actively hate, tbh
I dunno, call me off-base, but my feeling has been for a long time that hate and petty argument are both tiresome, and the world is hard enough as-is. Digging your feet in on minor issues, being particular and stubborn and callous, it just adds an unneeded burden to your shoulders. Sure, fight like hell for what matters- but if you can’t bridge the gap, can’t talk to people when there’s a minor disagreement or misunderstanding (and oh so often are they misunderstandings) you’re just gonna make your world smaller and smaller, more and more bitter.
If someone annoys you, either block them or hash it out. If you want to solve a dispute, talk or walk. It sounds reductive, but it really is that goddamn simple. All these… mind games and talking behind one another’s back and harboring resentments over ultimately minor things, they’re no way to live lives that are already made so damn much more difficult by the world around us.
Don’t give yourself that pointless workload. Be at as much peace as you can with those around you, and your life gets a hell of a lot easier.
