I really do wish there was a local furry group that didn't kinda suck in one way or another
The main one is run by admins who get extremely defensive over their group meets (plastering "do not repost" notices and watermarks over everything, without asking the hosts themselves) and play massive favorites with their friends. The 18+ chat is more gun nuts than anything and shit's just uncomfortable. I can tell nothing's gonna change there because they take every chance they get to toot about how much "better" they are than every other chat in the state
The other one is run by a screaming asshole who yells at anyone for looking at him funny and has allegedly harassed people in pretty nasty ways? I'm not as familiar with the latter but "screaming asshole" is already enough for me to stay faaar away. And like? That's kind of a shame because I've seen their adminship actually pre-emptively get rid of at least a few shitty people before?
Like, the meets themselves are usually pretty chill. I've never had a problem with the ones I go to (which isn't that many tbf). It's just, like, hard to make new friends when I don't feel comfortable interacting in any of the groups?
