the best thing I can really say about cohost's shutdown is that it's leaving me with not just the cavity of a community leaving, but an active desire to fill it with something better. I don't think I'd care that much about trying to replicate it if it was any other site that was going down. I'll never pretend that everyone on this site was good people, but there were enough for me to start actively reaching out and trying to stay in touch.
